U.S. Army Special Forces Winter Warfare Training (2022) The United States Army Special Forces (colloquially known as the Green Berets) are a special operations force of the United States Army that are designed to deploy and execute several key missions: counterinsurgency, unconventional warfare, direct action, foreign internal defense, special reconnaissance and security force assistance.


Special Forces Soldiers live up to the Special Forces motto: De Oppresso Liber, "To Free the Oppressed".
