The Isle of Man TT Races is defined by its scale, complexity and history. TT Explained is an educational series exploring the people, machines and structure of the event. In this episode, we take a closer look at the Snaefell Mountain Course, where ordinary public roads become the world’s most demanding race course for just two weeks each year. From towns and villages to open countryside and mountain roads, riders must contend with changing surfaces, elevation, camber and grip, all with little margin for error. This episode breaks the lap down into its six sectors, explaining how each presents its own technical, physical and mental challenges. It explores why mastering the TT Course takes years of learning and preparation, and how judgement, consistency and absolute commitment define every lap of the Isle of Man TT.
