Three days. Relentless rain. Brutal winds. 30 miles of rucking.

And one goal: Conquer Mammoth.

What does it take to complete one of the toughest endurance shooting competitions in the country? The Mammoth Sniper Challenge is more than a shooting match—it's a multi-day test of physical endurance, fieldcraft, teamwork, and mental resilience. Competitors carry everything they need on their backs as they navigate miles of rugged terrain, tackle physically demanding stages, and engage targets under conditions designed to push them far beyond their comfort zones. Success at Mammoth isn't determined by marksmanship alone. Teams must manage fatigue, make sound decisions under stress, maintain their equipment, and continue performing when sleep, energy, and morale are running low. Every stage presents a new problem to solve, and the environment is often just as challenging as the course itself. This year, the elements added another layer of difficulty. Heavy rain turned the terrain into a slog, soaked gear, and tested preparation at every turn. Strong winds complicated target engagements and forced constant adjustments behind the rifle. As the miles added up and conditions deteriorated, simply maintaining momentum became a challenge of its own. For first-time Mammoth competitors Kevin and Reuben, the match delivered exactly what it's known for: long days, difficult conditions, and a relentless series of physical and mental tests. Battling through rain, wind, fatigue, and the demands of the course, they completed the challenge and finished 19th out of 58 teams that crossed the finish line.

This is their journey through Mammoth 2026.
