The 34th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup will be remembered for the exceptional, but extreme weather that reduced competitive sailing to two days across the week. It will also be remembered for the perseverance of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda which, in collaboration with the International Maxi Association, ensured a successful conclusion to the regatta. The patience and focus of the competing crews will not be forgotten and, most of all, the winners will be recalled for their achievements, particularly Leopard 3 for securing the first ever Rolex IMA Maxi 1 World Championship. And, of course, the 40th anniversary of one of the most successful partnerships in yachting, between Title Sponsor Rolex and event host the YCCS will be celebrated for continuing to deliver one of the most acclaimed contests in the sport.
