Violent Extremism Is Spreading In West Africa

Côte d’Ivoire has managed to escape the brutal violence militants have carried out across its northern border with countries of the Sahel for more than a decade. But the security crisis plaguing Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, is spiraling out of control, and fears of the conflict spilling over into this West African coastal state are becoming a reality.


VICE News correspondent Michael Anthony Adams, reports the largest US training exercise in Africa, Flintlock, to break down the spread of violent extremism across West Africa's coastal states and to meet the forces preparing to respond to the threat.
