First held in 1980 and organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, in conjunction with the International Maxi Association, the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup has been title sponsored by Rolex since 1985. For over 40 years the regatta has attracted the most powerful yachts and sailors with impressive pedigrees. At this, the 36th, edition crews are competing for a number of prestigious class trophies, including two world titles. With the remarkable scenery of the Costa Smeralda providing the backdrop and the Maddalena Archipelago delivering challenging variety in courses and conditions, the quality of the location and racing is exceptional.
